Hungarian Romeo and Juliet
The performance treats an event happened at the beginning of the 1900's in a Transylvanian village, called Szék.
In this village, closed from the outside world, the inhabitants are stratified by streets. Every street - Forrószeg (Hot border), Csipkeszeg (Lace border), Felszeg (Upper border) - was the scene of long living traditions. On the other hand, these also symbolized social parting lines. Additionally, this tradition also regulated how to choose a partner for life, forbidding marriage between people coming from the different streets.
Naturally there were always been young couples that broke these unwritten laws, though they knew that the inhabitants of the village would take special measures to sanction them. But it was unusual that a girl breaking these unwritten laws to be exposed in such a way that the whole thing ended up in a tragedy.
